Subrogation rights are payments that an insurance carrier pays to their insured. So if you’re insured by GEICO, and GEICO pays you benefits, then GEICO reserves the right of subrogation, which is a right to pursue an action against the other driver that was responsible for the accident to recover the benefits that they paid to you.
